I am a life-long resident of southeast Iowa, growing up in neighboring Van Buren county. I’ve lived in Fort Madison for the past dozen years with my husband Steve and my four children—Drew, Meghan, A.J. and Anika. I have an associate’s degree as a paralegal, and I’ve worked as both a paralegal and in the court system for a combined period of 24 years. I began my new career as a real estate agent for KLM Realty in 2016, and I’m also a part-time legal assistant for the law firm of Reding & Santiago, PLC. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family & friends, reading, going for walks, golfing, cooking, and watching my children’s sporting events.
My decision to change careers was influenced greatly when we purchased a bank-foreclosed house a few years ago, and then underwent a major remodeling project. I cannot tell you how many hours I spent watching HGTV and every home show I could! By watching the dedicated hard work of our real estate agent Kara, and also the work of our contractor, painter and sub-contractors, I became intrigued about the business and instinctively knew that I could be just as passionate with my desire to help others locate their perfect home! Along the way, I’ve found that my legal background has made the career transition a smooth one.
Everyone needs a house to reside in, but not everyone is lucky enough to live in a home they love. And I have a strong desire to pair every single one of my clients with their dream home.
